It will also take you into truth.
Jessica and Martin are creating something they’ve come to call Rewoven Land. It’s not finished, but its foundation is clear, we do not turn away from the hard things. We walk toward them, gently, respectfully, and with open hearts. Because true transformation doesn’t happen in the avoidance. It happens in the courage to face what hurts, and the grace to hold it.
During this journey, you will be invited to bear witness to the legacy of the Rwandan genocide. You may stand where children hid. You may see the holes left by bullets. You may walk among stained garments, fractured walls, and the silence that still speaks. It will be confronting. It is meant to be.

But this is not where the story ends.
You will also see the strength of a people who chose healing over hatred. You’ll feel the heartbeat of a country that chose reconciliation over revenge. You’ll meet faces filled with dignity, grace, and forward motion.
Rwanda is not defined by its past, but it remembers. And in remembering, it teaches us what it means to rebuild.

This part of the retreat is sacred.
It is not about tourism.
It is about honour.
It is about bearing witness — and letting that change you.

Some of the content on this page may be distressing. If you choose to skip this part of the journey, we respect that fully. Space for reflection and support will be available throughout the retreat.
This story does not end in grief, but in strength, grace, and a choice to heal.
Rwanda remembers, But it also rises.
This is a land that chose forgiveness. That still chooses Life.
